Q. What if my child’s immunizations are from a different state or country, do they have to be on a Utah Immunization Card?
A. Yes, many countries and even other states require different vaccines. Go to your child’s personal physician or go to one of our Health Department Clinics and have the immunizations put on the “Utah School Immunization Record” form.
Q. What if I don’t have any utility bills in my name for Proof of Address?
A. You will need to complete a “Lives With” form and have it NOTARIZED.
Q. Is it necessary to provide 3 contacts?
A. Yes, emergency contacts are required. Besides, the more contact information you provide, the more options we have for contacting you in case of emergency.
Q. I do not want to pay the $40 registration fee until I find out if I have a scholarship. What can I do?
A. Your scholarship application cannot be processed until the registration is complete including paying the registration fee. If you do not qualify for a scholarship and decide to withdraw your student at that point, we will refund the registration fee. This request for refund must be completed within 1 month of scholarship denial notification.
Q. What is the difference between Open Admission and Limited Admission schools?
A. Any student may attend an Open Admission school. Limited Admission schools may only be attended by students living within that school’s boundaries.
Q. How do I know which school boundaries I live within?
A. Use the District Boundary Lookup to find your neighborhood school.
Q. What is the deadline to register?
A. Refer to our Registration Enrollment Dates information page.
Q. When does registration begin for the following school year?
A. March – check our web site periodically for information.
Q. Is busing available for preschool?
A. No. However, busing may be provided if your student is on an IEP and transportation is listed.
Q. How much does preschool cost?
A. Check our tuition and payment information link on the Preschool home page.
Q. How can I apply for a scholarship?
A. Once you complete your child’s registration, you can access the form via the link on the Preschool home page. Scholarships are limited and can be discontinued at any time.
Q. Can I attend a school I’m not zoned for?
A. You may attend any open admission school. All other school enrollment is limited to students living within that school’s boundaries.
Q. How do I get a special permit to attend a limited admission school?
A. Complete the Preschool Permit form on our registration page. You will receive an email with the elementary school principal’s decision.
Q. How soon should I contact the office after submitting a registration form?
A. If you have not received a confirmation email from our office within two weeks of submitting ALL required information, please call us at 385-646-4672.
Q. I just completed the registration form, what’s next?
A. Submit all required documentation and pay the registration fee if required. Wait for your confirmation email. If not received within two weeks, contact us.
Q. How do I provide the required documentation for registration?
A. You may either email (preschool@graniteschools.org), fax 385-646-4671, or mail them to our office at 2500 S State Street. Please note that faxing and emailing are much faster than mailing.
Q. Does my child have to be potty trained to attend preschool?
A. No; however, looking forward to and talking about attending preschool can be a great tool to help encourage potty training. All kindergarten students must be potty trained.
Q. Do you offer full-day preschool?
A. No, not at this time.
