Budget Hearing
Mitch Robison, Director of Budget Development, presented the Proposed FY 2019-2020 Budget to the board. This budget has been available on the district’s website to provide the public an opportunity to view and comment.
After the presentation, the board opened the meeting to public comment. No comments were given. The board voted to revise the 2018-2019 budget as published in the budget book, adopt the 2019-20 budget, set the tax rate to be 0.007666 subject to changes in the certified tax rates (no tax increase).
First Reading
The board approved a first reading of revisions to Article VIII.A.3. – Fees in the Public Schools as presented by Doug Larson, Director of Policy & Legal Services.
Action Items
The board approved the Granite Park Jr High Network Reconfiguration. This change, which will take effect beginning the 2020-2021 school year, will reconfigure sixth grade from Lincoln, Moss, Redwood, Roosevelt, and Wilson elementary schools to Granite Park, making it a 6-8 school.
The board approved a recommendation to add the Westbrook Elementary Closure Alternative as part of the Bangerter Corridor South Study. This action simply adds the possibility of closure as a potential solution to be explored as part of the study.
