The Utah State Board of Education has recognized Kearns and Cyprus high schools as Utah High Schools of Excellence, and Hunter and Granger high schools as Exemplary High Schools for ‘Closing the Opportunity Gap’ for multilingual learners.
Granite was among seven school districts recognized for its efforts to provide equitable access and success to coursework that prepares multilingual learners in their future endeavors. Kearns and Cyprus are two of eight High Schools of Excellence, and Granger and Hunter are two of three Exemplary High Schools.
All four schools met the state board’s criteria for either a Utah High School of Excellence or Utah Exemplary High School, which include key factors such as the percentage of students learning English achieving annual growth goals and completing advanced coursework for post-secondary success.
Congratulations to Cyprus, Granger, Hunter, and Kearns for their incredible work!
