Granite School District is among four school districts honored by the Utah State Board of Education for its efforts in supporting multilingual learners who achieved individual growth goals for 2020.
Three schools (Kearns Junior High, Jefferson Junior High, and Eisenhower Junior High) were recognized as Utah Notable Middle Schools, three schools (Kennedy Junior High, Hunter Junior High, and West Lake STEM Junior High) were recognized as Utah Middle Schools of Excellence, and Granite Park Junior High was recognized as a Utah Exemplary Middle School.
These schools were noted for efforts to support the educational learning goals for student growth toward English language proficiency.
Each school achieved the state board’s criteria for being recognized in one of the categories. In all cases, 33 percent or more of students learning English in each of these junior high schools achieved her/his annual growth goal.
Congratulations to Granite Park, Kearns, Kennedy, Hunter, West Lake, Kearns, Jefferson, and Eisenhower for their great work!
