Granite Park Junior High School science teacher Kristina Hight has been selected by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists as the Mountain West Earth Science Teacher of the Year.
This award is given to educators who have “demonstrated outstanding leadership in the field of geoscience education.”
This is a regional award, and means Hight will now be considered for the national Teacher of the Year award. She had previously been named the Utah Earth Science Teacher of the Year by the Utah Geologic Association, so we think she has good chance of getting the top spot. Congratulations!
