Spanish dual language immersion teacher Albert Ferrarons Font is this year’s runner up for the Utah Teacher of the Year award – the highest honor for educators in the state.
Mr. Ferrarons was crowned Granite School District’s 2021 Teacher of the Year in the spring during a surprise announcement at West Lake STEM Jr. High. Since then, he and other teachers from across the state have been considered by a selection committee comprised of representatives from various parent and teacher advocacy groups, charter schools, and the Utah State Board of Education for Utah’s top educator award.
Last week, Mr. Ferrarons was named one of the five finalists for the Utah Teacher of the Year award. As one of the runners up, he received a check for $4,000.
