Cheri Weske, a 3rd grade teacher at Diamond Ridge Elementary, is among five Utah teachers announced as finalists for the 2022 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).
This recognition is the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government specifically for K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teaching. Weske and the other finalists “serve as models for their colleagues, inspiration to their communities, and leaders in the improvements of STEM education.”
Weske and the other Utah candidates will now be reviewed by a national selection committee, who will select two individuals among the finalists to be named the 2022 Utah Presidential Awardees. The White House will announce the awardees in the summer or early fall. Congratulations and good luck!
