Jefferson Junior High was nominated and selected as the Utah Science Teacher Association’s 2022 Outstanding Middle School Department.
“Jefferson’s Science Department is full of teachers with diverse skills and passions. While some of us have decades of teaching experience and others just a few years, we all have science expertise and a love of teaching 3D science. Members of our department volunteer countless hours to perfect their teaching craft and engage in science professional development and endorsements. If you walk down the science hall at Jefferson, you’ll see students engaged in hands-on science learning whether they are exploring properties of matter through inquiry, engaging in Newton’s laws phenomenon riding gym scooters, or discovering the cyclical pattern of Moon phases. We provide opportunities for all of our amazingly diverse students to succeed in the science classroom. Students at Jefferson know that they will be working hard in their science classes and learn science and engineering practices that will propel them into their future as citizen scientists (or perhaps even professional scientists)!”
Congratulations!
