We are pleased to announce that Hunter High Drama Teacher Kjersti Parkes is the Granite School District 2023 Teacher of the Year!

Ms. Parkes is a graduate of Hunter High, Class of 1997, and has been teaching in the district for 17 years. Parkes was also recently awarded the Granite Education Foundation’s 2022-2023 Excel Outstanding Educator Award. “Arts education is an essential aspect of being a human being,” Parkes said in her Excel Award application. “I hope my students leave my classroom with the confidence to go into the world and realize that nothing is impossible if they just go and do.”
