Dear Employees and Patrons,
The Granite School District has seen an influx of scamming incidents where would-be scammers are “spoofing” or using Granite School District letterhead or images and logos of Granite School District schools to solicit money from employees and parents. They are specifically seeking for victims to purchase gift cards and then request the gift card codes via email or text promising to reimburse at a later date.
We want to remind you that the Granite School District and its employees/principals and schools will never solicit gift cards or other financial requests through text or email. Employees and parents should always check the address and information of those making these requests to verify where the information is coming from. If you have any doubts about fundraising request from the district or its schools, you can always check the veracity of these requests by checking with your local school or contacting the district directly via email at customerservice@graniteschools.org.
More information about how to avoid scams can be found on the Federal Trade Commission’s Consumer Advice website at: https://consumer.ftc.gov/scams.
