The Granite School District Board of Education approved a change to the elementary school service pattern during a special meeting on Monday, August 17. The elementary school schedule will be similar to the secondary schedule for in-person instruction – Monday through Thursday face-to-face learning with Fridays reserved for teacher planning and distance learning for all students. Individual schools will determine specifics regarding teacher modalities.

This adjustment comes following a request by the Granite Education Association – the district’s teacher union – to follow this service pattern for elementary schools.

The board also approved a revision to the 2020-2021 school calendar. October 21 & 22 are now designated as Professional Development and Program Adjustment days (non-attendance days for students). October 23 is already scheduled as an End of Term Student Recess Day.
