MTSS
Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is a framework for implementing systemic, evidence-based practices to maximize student achievement in academics and behavior in preparation for and leading to college and career readiness. MTSS integrates academic, behavioral and social emotional learning.
PBIS
Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) is an organizing framework for schools to determine how they want to operate as a community. For further information go to the PBIS Homepage.
What Do We Do?
Granite School District has implemented Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) in all elementary and secondary schools. The district level PBIS coaching team assists school level teams as they enhance and refine their PBIS systems. Professional learning opportunities are continually provided to all schools and focus on:
- Effective teaming practices
- System refinement
- Sustainability
- Data analysis
- Tier 1 behavior practices
- Social skills and disposition learning
- Tier 2 behavior supports
Using the Tiered Fidelity Inventory, district PBIS coaches conduct an annual evaluation for each school to measure fidelity criteria for implementing PBIS. Evaluation feedback supports schools as they make data based decisions when considering refinement or additions to their PBIS and MTSS systems.
