Student Choice

In our third GSD Tech Meet, held on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, Granite teachers joined up in a video and chat meet to share ideas and learn from one another. This week’s discussion focused on providing student choice and personalization during distance and face-to-face learning. Below we share a recording of the live meet, as well as ideas, links, and resources shared by participants in the session.

Recording

The session was facilitated by Kacie O’Maley, School Technology Specialist at Upland Terrace Elementary and an incoming Team Leader for the Educational Technology Department next year. We had three teacher highlights in this session:

Jenny Peirce, Educational Technology Team Leader, featured choice boards geared toward use with secondary students. Click for an example template.
Leandra Bambrick, 6th Grade Teacher at Academy Park Elementary, shared how she uses Google Slides and Google Classroom to provide her students with choice opportunities. Click for an example template.

Thank you to all the participants who shared ideas and answered each other’s questions by using the audio or chat features in Google Meet. The success of these meets relies on sharing from participants.
