In the lead-up to next year’s Digital Conversion implementation, we will be featuring spotlights and discussions from teachers and students who participated in pilot classroom Chromebook programs during the 2014-15 school year. In this video, several teachers discuss the impact that classroom Chromebooks has had on their teaching practice.

Today is Digital Learning Day!
Digital Learning Day is a special opportunity for teachers, librarians, and administrators to highlight and share examples of the technology-infused learning happening in their classrooms, libraries, and schools. It also provides the chance and reminder for teachers to find a new digital resource, tool or activity to try with students. The Granite Education Technology department sponsors a monthly twitter chat on teaching with technology called #GraniteTechChat. This chat is open to any interested parties, but is especially focused on the participation of school technology specialists and library media educational technology specialists in Granite School District. Archives of these chats are kept on this website using the Storify service.

The February 2015 chat focused on digital learning, and technology specialists shared some ways they have incorporated technology with teaching, taught digital citizenship to students. This year, the Granite Educational Technology Dept. sponsored 30 elementary and junior high FIRST LEGO League teams. They competed at several regional qualifying events in January, including at SLCC, Entheos Academy, and Granger High School. Our LEGO teams and coaches were amazing, and 5 of them placed at their regional events to compete at the state event:
