Highlights from the 2019 Granite Battle of the Books District Competition

Now Registering: Utah’s Online Library (Ed Tech Pick Five Session)
Tuesday, March 19, 2019 – Utah’s Online Library
Utah’s Online Library is one of the best but most underutilized resources available to Utah teachers. We’ll explore many of the incredible resources for research and lesson design available in UOL.
Session location: Technology Learning Center (5300 W Cherrywood Lane, West Valley City, UT)
Time: 4:30 – 7:30 PM

3rd Tuesday of each month – 4:30-7:30 P.M.
All Granite educators looking to add to or improve their use of technology in the classroom are invited to attend any of our Pick Five sessions. Topics will be announced in our Ed Tech Newsletter each month.
All are welcome to sign up to attend any of the sessions. Relicensure points are available. Attend at least 5 of the sessions and complete a portfolio assignment to receive 1 USBE credit.

Now Registering Students: Code to Success Summer 2019
Utah’s Code to Success program is once again being offered to students of Granite School District in June and July 2019. The program is open on a first-come, first-serve basis to those who will be entering grades 9-12 in the 2019-2020 academic year, and is free of charge.
Parent Student Information Night on 3/11/19
There will be a parent student information night about the program on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 6 P.M. in Auditorium C of the Granite School District Offices at 2500 South State Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84115.

This week, school technology specialists, library media educational technology specialists, teachers, and other #gsdedtech and #gsdlibraries staff will be presenting and receiving professional development at the Utah Coalition for Educational Technology (UCET) and Utah Educational Library Media Association (UELMA) state conferences.

Countdown to Battle of the Books 2019 District Elementary Competition
The Granite District competition for 5th-6th Grade Battle of the Books teams is coming up on March 14, 2019, from 5:30-7:30 P.M. at Jim Bridger Elementary.
