Assessments
Assessments are the methods a teacher uses to measure student learning of a standard(s). They can be observations, portfolios, paper/pencil tests, products, tasks, discussions, etc. and are scored 1-4. Read More About Assessments
Retakes/Reassessment
Students may retake assessments (reassess) when they have increased their understanding of a standard. Teachers require extra practice on specific concept before reassessments. A student may also suggest other ways of showing their learning to the teacher. Read More About Reassessment
3 is NOT the Highest Score Possible
A score of 3 tells a student he/she has met the standard. If a student understands the standard fully and can apply it in different ways, he/she is highly proficient and is scored a 4. Teachers must design assessments that allow students to demonstrate they are highly proficient. Read More About PBL Model
“Homework” vs. Learning Activities
