Phone – Student Grades
Click on More Info next to your student’s name
Click on Grades Summary to view student grades.
This will show you all of the courses your student has grades for the current year. Use the slider on the bottom of the screen to see the grades.
You have some options that will allow you to see more of your student’s course history. If you check any of the boxes above the table, make sure to click Update.
This will display the grades for your student. At the Elementary level, the homeroom class does not receive a grade, so it will display NG for no grade.
Graduate of Granite Characteristics are only viewable on the web version of Focus.
Computer – Student Grades
Student Dropdown View:
On the left-hand side of the page, there are some menu options and your student names listed. Click on the student who you would like to view their grades:
Click on the drop-down arrow by your student’s name, then click on the Grades link.
This will take you to a grade summary screen. You can see all your student’s grades so far this year.
Then click on the Grades link.
- Cumulative GPA – Student’s average GPA for all courses.
- CPA GPA – Student’s cumulative citizenship grade for all years and courses
- Total Credits Earned – Number of credits earned towards graduation.
- Q1 – Student’s posted 1st Quarter grades
- Q2 – Student’s calculated grades for 2nd Quarter
- Calculated Grade – If a grade is displaying with a blue triangle in the top right corner, this is a calculated grade from the teacher’s gradebook, not a posted final grade.
Viewing Graduate of Granite Scores – High School View
To view the Graduate of Granite Scores, you will go into the Grades link under your students name. This will default you into the Grade Summary view. Click on the View Detailed Report link in the middle of the page.
Then you will need to click the Show Utah Fields button for the Graduate of Granite Characteristics to display.
*Once you click this once, this will be the default for your profile. *
Use the scroll bar at the bottom of the table to slide over to the right to view the Graduate of Granite scores for each class.
Viewing Graduate of Granite scores for Jr High and Elementary Students
Under your student on the left side of the screen, click the Grades link. Then select View Detailed Report.
You will see a blank screen. You will need to click the Show Utah Fields box.
You will need to click on the “All Quarters” tab to view your student’s grades.
This will display a course history for your student. Use the scroll bar at the bottom of the table to see the Graduate of Granite Characteristics. You can also filter by school year to only see the current year or your student’s full course history.
Student Tile View:
Student tiles default to displaying the Grades tab for the current quarter. The Grades tab has the student schedule, the teacher’s name, how many excused (Ex), unexcused (Unx), and tardy codes a student has received in the course. If you use the scroll bar at the bottom of the tile, you will be able to view grade information.
*Some tiles may not have a scroll bar on them*
Use the scroll bar to view students current grades if they are not displaying completely.
Once you have scrolled to the right, you will be able to view the student’s current grades in the course. Click on one of the grades to view assignments.
Click on the Grade to view current assignments and scores.
This will display the course information and the student’s overall grade.
If you click Expand all or the plus sign by each of the standards, you can view the assignment and the grade your student received.
If you click on the hyperlink for the assignment below the standard, you will be able to view more information.
- Assigned Date – the date the teacher assigned this to your student.
- Due Date – the date the assignment is due.
- Marking Period – Which quarter this assignment will be calculated into the student’s grade.
- Description – Teachers have the option to write a description of the assignment.
*This is optional so it may be blank* - Use the Back to Assignment List to see all assignments.
You can change to your student’s other classes by clicking on the dropdown and selecting another class.
Viewing Previous Quarter Scores
If you would like to view last quarter’s grades, you can use the dropdown in the top right corner to select the quarter. In this example, we are going to change to Quarter 1.
Use the same steps as above to view assignments and grades.
If you click on the Granite Logo in the top left corner, you can also view all Quarter 1 grades from the student tile.
Click Q1 in the student tile. This will display the Quarter 1 grades your student received.
